If you think art is just about acquisition, you’re missing the point.

Open Art creates opportunities for clients to:

  • Amplify brand identity and values

  • Engage community and build connections

  • Attract interest by creating cohesive and strong visual impressions

  • Stimulate creativity, ideation and innovation

  • Celebrate and inspire

our brand and logo

At a gallery a red sticker next to an artist’s work signifies that the piece is sold. Ultimately, artists need to sell work to sustain their practice and remain a vital part of our communities. But our logo means more than that.

Art is not just another asset class. Art has value beyond the intrinsic.  We believe both active and new collectors deserve to capitalize on art’s full value.

Through our patronage platform, brand and logo, we help clients unlock art’s exponential value.

Art

Artists are integral to vibrant and thriving communities. Their works enhance the built environment helping transform ordinary neighbourhoods into destinations. The arts and culture drive economic value.

We’re promoting local artists not just as makers but engines of economic value.

Local

To experience art, to have that palpable and visceral experience, you need to get out in front of it. Art belongs in the everyday spaces where it can be experienced by all.

We’re getting art in the open, beyond the narrow confines of gallery settings, making encounters with art happen.

Founder’s message

When I moved to Vancouver one of the first events I attended was the Culture Crawl. The event, and more specifically the sheer number of attendees of all ages and backgrounds, was the inspiration for what would become Open Art.  I realized that people crave art; they want to experience it, and they want it in their everyday lives.

It took two more years to create the vision of what Open Art could be – an ‘ongoing program’ that:

i.  brings art into everyday spaces where it can be experienced routinely by anyone,

ii.  breaks down traditional patronage models and the barriers to acquiring art, and,

iii.  enables artists to sell their work and thrive.

In other words, the offering had to be inclusive and economically viable and have positive impact for artists, “collectors” and community.

Open Art is an art invest-in-art platform that blows the notion of patronage wide open. Open Art is a disruptor encouraging organizations to rethink the value of art, where art belongs, and who gets to participate.

I believe art belongs in the open, in the everyday, where people can see it, enjoy it and where patrons can benefit from its full value.  If you share this vision, I invite you to explore the different ways you can partner with us.
