Art is not just another asset class.

Open Art is not just another art advisory firm.

We curate connection creating programs that unlock art’s exponential value by reframing art as a systems level investment in people and place, delivering powerful returns for business and institutional partners who share our belief that art is not a luxury, but essential to the economic and civic vitality of our cities.

Mission

To encourage and incentivize a return to arts patronage for organizations that creates corporate value, sustains our collective artistic heritage, and is a catalyst to creating a dynamic and vibrant city that people want to visit, live and work in, and contribute to.

Lights on Art

Founder’s message

When I moved to Vancouver one of the first events I attended was the Culture Crawl. The event, and more specifically the sheer number of attendees of all ages and backgrounds, was the inspiration for what would become Open Art.  I realized that people crave art; they want to experience it, and they want it in their everyday lives.

It took two more years to create the vision of what Open Art could be – an ‘ongoing program’ that:

i.  brings art into everyday spaces where it can be experienced routinely by anyone,

ii.  breaks down traditional patronage models and the barriers to acquiring art, and,

iii.  enables artists to sell their work and thrive.

In other words, the offering had to be inclusive and economically viable and have positive impact for artists, “collectors” and community.

Open Art is an art invest-in-art platform that blows the notion of patronage wide open. Open Art is a disruptor encouraging organizations to rethink the value of art, where art belongs, and who gets to participate.

I believe art belongs in the open, in the everyday, where people can see it, enjoy it and where patrons can benefit from its full value.  If you share this vision, I invite you to explore the different ways you can partner with us.
