My journey
I am a multi-disciplinary artist, a graduate of California Institute of the Arts, living in Vancouver and drawing from the constant inspiration of our ever-changing sultry skies, our stunning mountains rivers and our amazing ocean views.
My artistic perspective is rooted in a career spent building immersive worlds. With an extensive background in theater production, film, and television, I have spent decades mastering how light, color, and composition that dictate the emotional resonance of a space. My transition to the canvas was a natural evolution of this work.
Drawing on nature as a metaphor for the deepest aspects of our humanity, I create lyrical, color-field abstractions that enhance the emotional well being of those who inhabit the space whether at home or in a working environment.
I view a space as if it were a cinematic frame: it requires a focal point that directs energy promotes a state of mind whether contemplative and centering or energizing.
I utilize archival-grade materials and professional-standard mediums to ensure all work meets the longevity and maintenance requirements of both homes and high-traffic commercial environments.
Artist statement
I paint the places that cannot be found on any map—the shifting terrain of memory emotion and belonging. Perhaps it’s the world that exists only in memory and dream.
The visible world holds something deep and unseen. I paint to find that place.
